Website Front-end Quality Control Considerations

Every good web agency practices some form of code-based quality control during the creation of their clients’ websites. For example, development is paused for a short amount of time every few of days/weeks/months and the code that has been written so far is tested to ensure it meets certain standards defined by the agency. These tests can include anything from checking the security of the database to determining how a visitor who is color-blind might interpret the design. Since we specialize in design and front-end development, there are a few things that we always test to help ensure a good user experience for visitors and to reduce inconsistencies among many common web browsers.

Reduce Browser Discrepancies With an Initial Template

One of the most challenging things that website designers and developers routinely encounter is inconsistency in the way web browsers render the markup they wrote. Often their design will look wonderful in a handful of browsers but terrible in another one, and when the project requires all of those browsers to render the design without any flaws, it can become a serious hurdle to overcome.

Accessible Table Markup Demonstration

Here is a quick demonstration of an average table written with accessibility in mind. While tables can be much more complex than this, I feel that this example represents a lower level of complexity that is commonly used today. For more complex table demonstrations a quick search in Google should yield decent examples.
